On Thursday, 16th March 2023, leadership of the Greater Accra Chapter of the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) joined key stakeholders at the prestigious 2023 Mobile Technology for Development (MT4D) Conference held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel.

Representing the Association were Dr. Aisha Asi Akrofi, Greater Accra Regional Chairperson, and Hon. Justice King Essiel, General Secretary of GNAPS. Their participation underscores GNAPS’ commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation and policy dialogue, particularly in areas that intersect education, technology, and financial inclusion.

About MT4D 2023

The Mobile Technology for Development (MT4D) Conference 2023 took place from March 16–17, 2023, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, development partners, and innovators. Organized by the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications in collaboration with the Africa Financial Inclusion Forum, and supported by the Bank of Ghana and the Office of the Vice President, the conference served as a premier platform for discussions on digital transformation in Ghana.

Held under the theme: “Driving Digital Financial Inclusion in the Real Economy,” the event emphasized the importance of leveraging mobile technologies to deepen access to financial services and stimulate inclusive economic growth.

GNAPS Strategic Interest

GNAPS’ presence at MT4D 2023 reflects the Association’s recognition of the growing importance of digital financial systems within the education sector. As private schools increasingly adopt digital payment solutions for fees, services, and administrative processes, discussions from the conference provide valuable insights into:

  1. Enhancing financial accessibility for parents and students.
  2. Promoting secure and efficient payment systems in schools.
  3. Leveraging technology to improve institutional management.

As GNAPS Greater Accra continues to champion quality education, such engagements remain essential in aligning the Association with national and global trends in technology-driven development.
